ROUTER
If your router is not working and your wireless adapter is there is a way to get it to work again.
Depend on the type of router you use the steps could be a bit different.
Step 1. Check to see if the modem is working properly depending on what company you are with either Shaw, or TELUS.
Step 2. Unplug your router's power and remove the Ethernet cable (which is the blue one) that is connect to your router from the modem and hold the reset button for 20-25 seconds.
Step 3. Plug the Ethernet cable back into the router, and then the power supply back to the router. Then go to the wired or wireless PC and open the internet. In the address bar type in your router’s address which is (depending on the router you are using) 192.168.1.1 (that is for Linksys) it will prompt you for a user name and password. In the user name type in linksys and the password admin (depending on the router).
Step 4. Once you logged in go to the wireless tab. Then go to wireless security and type in your password that no one knows expect you and easy for you to remember. Then click save settings (if you don’t do this then it won’t be saved). If you are using the wireless PC to work on the router you will need to reconnect to the router by using the password you just enter for it to work.
Step 5. Next you want to go to basic wireless settings which can be found under the Wireless tab. Make sure your network mode is mixed then change your network name (SSID). Click save settings and your router will automatically do the changes.
